Donor Bike Selection:  We cannot recommend any particular bike as manufacturers change frames and forks often.  The front fork is the deciding factor.  First consideration, aluminum and/or suspension front forks (with shocks) are not recommended as they could break.  You should choose a bike with a rigid (non suspension) steel (not aluminum) front fork that has 3 3/4 inch minimum inside width at the axle (between the fork tips).  More than 3 3/4 inches is OK.  Secondly, to provide clearance for the hub motor housing, you don't want the inside fork width (between the forks) to narrow to less than 3 1/2 inches for the first 3 inches above the axle.
